American Franchises Koreans Already Know (And a Few You Can't Get Back Home)
한국인이라면 이미 아는 미국 프랜차이즈, 그리고 한국에는 없는 몇 곳

Walk down Koreatown's streets and you'll spot familiar arches, familiar cups, familiar buckets. Turns out a lot of the American chains sitting right here have quietly set up shop back home in Korea too — and a few big names you'd swear are everywhere actually never made it there at all.
If you're visiting Korea, or just love spotting the overlap between "American food" and "Korean food," here's your field guide. Tap any logo to open its Korea location info.
Quick note: since you're reading the English version, every link below points to that brand's Korea location. Switch to 한국어 above and the same links point to US locations instead.
Breaking news update: Chipotle just made this list current. It opened its very first Asia location in Gangnam, Seoul on September 2, 2026 — and it has been absolute chaos ever since.

So yes — Chipotle is officially on the "already in Korea" list below, but it's the freshest, wildest entry by far. If the Gangnam line ever calms down, it's worth the trip.
Already home in Korea
These 14 have real, working locations across Korea right now.
(Heads up: these take you to Korea, not the US — teleporting to America instead? Switch to 한국어 up top.)
McDonald's
Starbucks
Taco Bell
KFC
California Pizza Kitchen
The Halal Guys
Papa John's
Domino's
Burger King
Panda Express
Jamba Juice
Subway
Pizza Hut
Chipotle
Koreatown exclusives (for now)
These five are names you'll recognize instantly — from movies, from K-content, from sheer internet fame — but you won't find a real storefront back home. A couple used to be there and left; one never opened at all. Consider this your excuse to try them while you're in LA.
